Luxton Fairgrounds

The Luxton Fairgrounds, owned and operated by the Metchosin Farmers Institute (MFI), is a versatile venue that hosts various groups and service organizations. These include the Luxton Antique Farm Equipment Club, the Vancouver Island Blacksmiths, Triangle Little League, and South Island Rough Riders Gymkanna Club. The fairgrounds are known for hosting the Luxton Pro Rodeo every Victoria Day long weekend in May and the Luxton Fall Fair every September. The fairgrounds offer a range of facilities that can be rented by the public for different events. These include a riding ring with re-configurable stock chutes and ample bleacher seating, Luxton Hall for dances, lectures, and large meetings, a poultry and small animal barn, and spacious open-air areas. Additionally, picnic tables, washroom facilities, and garbage collection services are available for a nominal fee. The MFI, chartered under the Farmers Institute Act, has been promoting agriculture and agricultural activities in the area for over 100 years. The Luxton Fairgrounds, located at 1040 Marwood Avenue in Langford, BC, serve as the institute's headquarters.
