The restaurant was born out of Chef Sean Smith's passion for delicious pulled pork sandwiches and his desire to bring authentic slow smoked BBQ to the city. The construction of the restaurant was a labor of love, with the exception of electrical, HVAC/Exhaust, and plumbing work. The space is characterized by 100-year-old barnboard sourced from a friend's family barn in Kerwood, Ontario. Lou Dawgs offers a menu of slow smoked southern BBQ, live blues music, and a variety of drinks. The restaurant serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, and features a big screen for sports events. It is also open until 4AM on weekends. Lou Dawgs on King also offers office catering and events space. The restaurant is known for its smoked, saucy, Southern-style fare and is a popular spot for clubgoers.
