INAS is dedicated to promoting and disseminating the culture and language of the Amazigh (Berber) people through the teaching of Tamazight, the Berber language. Founded in January 2009, INAS is strictly focused on education and prohibits any political or religious activities. In line with the efforts of Amazigh linguists and ethnologists, INAS aims to revive and rehabilitate the writing system of Tamazight. The organization's mandate includes teaching the Amazigh language, promoting Amazigh language and culture through seminars, conferences, and celebrations of Amazigh history and culture. INAS is committed to the values of freedom, democracy, secularism, and respect for human rights. They also foster friendship and cooperation with other ethnic and cultural groups in Quebec society while respecting the values, language, identity, history, and culture of their host society.
