Harper's Tire (1931) Ltd is a third-generation family-owned business that was founded by John M. Harper in 1931. Originally focused on tire retreading, the business thrived under John's leadership, using his Vulcanizing training acquired after serving in the First World War. After John's retirement in 1961, his three sons, Jack, Don, and Stan, took over and expanded the business. They established a marine division for boat and motor sales and service, as well as a ski division that was later sold in the 1970s. In the late 1970s, Jack sold his shares to Don and Stan. In 1990, the company was divided, with Don taking control of Harper's Marine and Stan taking control of the tire store. Currently, Harper's Tire operates three retail stores in Calgary and is now owned by Stan's sons, Dan and Tom. The company specializes in tire service and automotive repair, offering same-day service and expertise in solving vibration problems.
