The Ben Navaee Gallery is a prominent art gallery in Toronto that has undergone two relocations, first from 29 Bellair St. to 1111 Queen St. East in 2006, and then to its current location at 1107 Queen St. East in July 2011. The new gallery space is known for its abundance of natural light and is situated in the heart of Toronto's film district, Leslieville. The gallery is owned and operated by Ben Navaee, a multi-talented individual who is not only a musician, photographer, and painter but also a certified yoga instructor specializing in relaxation and meditation.
Ben Navaee has a strong commitment to community engagement and education. In August 2003, he started offering free art and yoga/meditation classes to the public. This led to the establishment of the Toronto East Community Arts Program (TECAP) in 2006, which aimed to provide free art education to the community. TECAP was officially registered as a charitable organization in 2009. The TECAP community strongly believes in the principle that free education is a fundamental human right.
In addition to being a gallery, Ben Navaee Gallery also operates a custom framing shop and offers a range of classes including yoga, painting, sculpting, and photography.
